Golf US Tour The Players Championship

Sawgrass, Ponte Vedra Thursday 10th May

This tournament is more than just the 17th hole with its island green, famous universally, where dreams can be made or broken. The course is a subtle test that rewards accuracy and attention to detail and penalises players who are not at the top of their game. The risk reward holes like the 16th can see eagles, birdies and bogeys, whilst all the time the players mind is on the next tee shot.

I am a big fan of past course form in most golf tournaments and this course is no different, but also players in decent form who can drive the ball well and are high on the stats on greens in regulation should go well. … Continue Reading

Trading the 2012 US Masters

US MASTERS, AUGUSTA, GEORGIA, 2012

Perhaps it is because this is the only major that is played on the same course annually or perhaps it is because of the sheer beauty of the place, that makes The US Masters probably the most talked about and recognisable golf tournament in the world.

This year’s contest looks fascinating with the first three in the betting arriving in decent form. With the return to winning ways of Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy determined to overcome last year’s final round disaster and Phil Mickelson looking to add a 4th Green Jacket to his collection to equal his fierce rival Tiger, we have a wonderful week to look ahead to, and that doesn’t include any of the other players taking part. If we look at recent winners, four of the last five have been big prices, with only Lefty in 2010 being a well fancied starter. No British or Irish player has won since Nick Faldo in 1996 with Jose Maria Olazabal the last European winner in 1999. If we look a little deeper, then we see no Australian has won the Green Jacket that despite a valiant challenge last year from Jason Day and Adam Scott. Outside of the US, the most winning nations are South Africa with 5 wins and Spain with 4 victories.

This year’s tournament is sure to be full of twists and turns and unless we get a runaway leader, which is unlikely, then there, should be plenty of great trading opportunities.

The Advantages of Short Term Trading

September 5, 2011 Adam Todd Archive No Comments

Original Article from 2007

The secret of successful trading on UK horseracing favourites in the final minutes before the off is simple: the less time you hold a position the better. When making trading decisions based on nothing more than the most recent price pattern you have to accept that things can turn against you instantly. As there is no way of knowing which trade is going to be the bad one then you have to enter each new trade with the assumption that it is going to be the one that gets you. Therefore it logically follows that if the trade that you have just opened is going to lose money then you should get out of it as fast as you can! The quicker you make yourself flat and get out of danger the better.

Building a Bank with Matched Betting

Building a Bank with Matched Betting

Building a Bank with Matched Betting.

(and creating a cushion against premium charges at the same time).

When you start trading the first thing you need to do is provide a bank which you are prepared to lose.  If you lose it you then need to find another one.  Trading is risky, particularly when you are learning how to do it, and most people blow at least one bank in the process.

So how about using the bookies own money to create your trading bank?  This is quite easy to do by a process known as matched betting.  You will still have to find some money to start off with, but as matched betting is risk free, you can use this money to build yourself a bank to start trading with.  How much you can earn from this depends somewhat on whether you have already got accounts with bookmakers, since matched betting makes use … Continue Reading

BetTrader Evolution Version 3

BetTrader Evolution Version 3
Change as you see fit but run changes back past me pleeeeeeeeeeease J
Carly
A very special Scalper….
Here at RacingTraders we may have been quiet for a few months, but it has been a very productive silence.
We have a new release of Evo for you to sink your teeth into and as ever, RacingTraders are first with a fully featured new Mode. Start your photocopiers!
So what it is?… Could it be new chart technology – no that’s ‘so last month’, OK then, tools allowing you to predict the next play in a football or Tennis match – no, we wouldn’t want to take away the fun for you.
Evo3 gives you the next step in trading technology – Training/Simulation Mode, You can now trade live markets usign a training bank.
This is a full simulator with built in intelligence allowing you to experiance the market as if you were traidng with real money.
If you’re learning, developing a system or just having a bad week but still want a bit of a play, training mode is for you.
Evo3 with Training Mode will be available on the 17th of November allowing you to trade with whatever bank you set yourself and know, at the end of the session that you are going to shut the computer without losing a penny.
Training mode isn’t just for learners either. Evo polls the live Betfair data so you can see the exact market responses and get a great feel for what is going on.  If you are an experienced trader developing a new strategy or system, you can test with varying stakes without risking any of your bank.
This is the essential piece of kit for new traders and pretty invaluable for more experienced ones too.
Cost
These is no change to the subscription price of Evo3, if you have an active subscrion now you will get training mode free, thisd isnt a bolt on we are charing for.
New subscription type
Evo3 is also bringing in the ability to purchase ‘days’ of subscription too.  You can chose to use your days when you want – within their six-month validity and still have full use of the ladder and grid (at non-turbo speed) at all other times.
You may be happy using Evo in non-turbo mode to trade a slower paced game such as Cricket or Football, but want to have turbo switched on for a few afternoons of scalping.  By purchasing days you can do just that.  Each day runs for 24 hours from first activation and each parcel of days purchased expires six-months after purchase.  Days start at £5 for 3, giving you flexible, cost-effective options for your trading.
Download process significantly improved
Due to Betfair’s permissioning process many people had difficulty downloading and installing Evo.  Evo3 will handle this process for you from within the program and it is now a straigtforward process which will see you up and running in a matter of minutes.
Hide wallet contents
After recent discussions on the forum, the ability to hide the wallet amount is now available.  Clicking on  the flag will show/hide your wallet contents.
Improved bet placement function
The developer has worked through all minor bugs and hiccups that we occasionally experience in Evo and as a result, we are seeing a much more robust trading environment with no reported bet errors to date.
All this will be available to you on Wed 17th November.  Due to the great new features which are only available to subscription holders, we will be running FreEvo3 week from Wed 17th to Wed 24nd November and there will also be some not-to-be-missed offers on subscriptions.
Thats correct, Evo 3 will be free for everyon ein full speed mode and training mode activated for all for one week.
Competition
And, where would the Scalper be without a bit of a competition?   On November 25th, in Brisbane, a challenge which started 128 years ago will once again get underway.  England will defend the Ashes title in Australia.  I know that my cricket loving Anglo-Australian household will be divided and that many mocking phone calls to and from in-laws will be made and received.
The competition, not quite as testing as England’s challenge, is simply what will the opening batsman’s score be.  This being the Batsman who is listed as number 1 on the team sheet of the side who bats first.
Obviously the score may be a duck, and he may even be not out at the end of the innings.   First answer sent will be accepted.  Answers in the comments below….
Entries close at 9am on November 24th.
