SETUP
The SETUP tab is where you customise how Evolution appears and behaves when viewing markets. Via this tab you can change the preferences for the Ladder Colour, Sound, Tools, Unmatched Bets, Matched Bets, Profit & Loss, Projected SP, Graphs, Market Information, Rules, Ladder Auto-Centre, Ladder Unmatched Column, Stake Button, Liability Button and Right-Click Ticks.

Training Bank
Set yourself a bank of play money to trade with in Training Mode. Remember to click the purple disc icon to save the amount. Your trading bank will be saved from one session to another.
Changing A Panel View

In this example, we want to have the Tools panel available to us when trading, so we check the first box to tell Evo we want to see the panel, and we click the second box if we want that panel to be open by default. When you make a change, click the disk icon that appears to save your change. The disk will flash yellow to indicate that it has been accepted.
Any panels which are ticked will appear in the left panel when you are looking at the market in grid or ladder mode. If the panel open box is not ticked you will just see a tab saying eg “tools”. If you also tick panel open then that panel will open by default every time you open a market.
Changing Stakes

If you scroll down you will see the default stake and liability values. You can change them here. In this case, we have changed the first four values from their default. Remember to click the disk to save your settings. You can also change these at the bottom of the ladder.

Ladder Colour Contrast
When this box is ticked the figures in the blue column on the ladder appear in white rather than black, to make them easier to see.

Sounds
When sounds are selected a warning is sounded 20 seconds before the event is due to start, and again at the off time. Evo will also warn you when a market is suspended. This happens even when you have several markets open and are looking at a different one at the time.
Warning: (Windows Only) Enabling sounds can cause a ‘freezing’ at 20 seconds if your browser is not set up with the correct MIME types. What is happening is that the browser sends a message to the operating system asking it to play the sound file. The OS then searches the hard drive looking for an application that can do so in the background and fails to do so.
Solution: The easiest solution to this is to install the stand-alone QuickTime application from Apple. It is free. The application does not need to be running for the sounds to be produced. During the installation, QuickTime will change the default MIME settings in the browser for sound files, and this is what fixes the problem.
Tools
The setup menu is used to select whether or not to open the tools panel when you open a market. The individual tools are selected from the tools menu when you view a market.
Unmatched Bets, Matched Bets, Profit & Loss, Projected SP
Tick these if you want to see them in the left panel when you view a market.

Graphs
If you tick show panel, but not panel open for the graphs, you will have to click on the graphs tab in the left panel before you can see a graph. If you want to use the graphs a lot, it is best to have panel open ticked as well. To view a graph for a particular selection, click on the sports icon or jockey silks next to the selection name on either the ladder or grid, and the graph will open in the left panel. For more information on graphs see the section on floating graphs in the tools section of this manual.
Market Information, Rules
You can select these if you want to view the market information details and rules tab as they appear on the Betfair site.
Ladder Auto-Centre
You can choose to have the ladder auto centre on, in which case all the ladders will centre by default, or off, in which case you can centre a ladder by clicking on the middle column. If auto centre is on, it will be disabled for any ladder which your mouse is hovering over, in order to prevent you from taking a different price by mistake.
Ladder Unmatched Col.
This feature enables you to select what is shown in the white column of the ladder when you place bets. You can choose between seeing only your unmatched bet stakes, seeing your P&L figures for each odds value, or Unmatched Bets +Hedge, which shows the hedge figure you will have if you trade out at that particular price. One click on the hedge figure in the white column will then back or lay the correct amount to hedge at those odds.
Changing Stakes and Liability Buttons
Evo comes with pre-set stake and liability buttons and you can change these to your preferred default stakes and liabilities by clicking on the SETUP button and scrolling down to the Stake/Liability Button panels. You can also quickly change the stake/liability on the ladder mode by typing in an amount in the box on the left. In this screenshot, I’ve entered 50p. If I now submit a bet or lay it’ll be for 50p.

Right Click Ticks
This is a setting for how many ticks you want to move your bet by when you right click on the price in the betslip in the left panel. This is particularly useful in grid mode when clicking on the price is much faster than using the up and down arrows. The default value is set to 1 tick.
