Training Mode
When you launch Evolution, Training Mode will be set to Off. This is indicated by a small red mortar board icon and the words ‘Training is OFF’.
Before you enter Training Mode, you should set yourself up a training bank. You do this by clicking SETUP and entering a figure in the Bank Balance and click on the small purple disc icon to save it.
Evo will remember your training bank from one session to the next, so you are able to track your progress.
Then click on ‘Training is OFF’ and it will change to ‘Training is ON’. The background of the market will also change, in grid mode the background is light grey and in ladder mode, the background is grey and the prices on the ladder are white. You will also see your wallet balance change to show your training wallet.
Once you are in Training Mode – carry out your trades as usual. You can place back and lay bets, use the tools, use the grid or ladder – just as in normal mode. Only your results will only add or subtract from your trading bank and not your real bank!
A couple of things to be aware of while using Training Mode:
—You cannot switch into training mode while you have active unmatched real bets.
—Unmatched bets are cancelled when a market resumes after being suspended for 20 seconds or more. This is primarily to cater for football trading. This gives the user an experience that is virtually identical to real trading.
—Trading on markets that are not in-play markets will not always match what really happens in the race. This is because Betfair do not supply the results of in-play markets. Therefore EVO has no way of knowing what the result of a not-in-play market.
—Trading on in-play markets uses the selection prices at the time the market finally suspends to determine the winning selection. This is because Betfair do not supply the results of in-play markets.
—Trading on in-play place markets uses the selection prices at the time the market finally suspends to determine the winning selections. We are successfully able to tell whether place markets are 2 or 3 places to win. This is because Betfair do not supply the results of these market.
—You can easily game the system, for instance placing large bets below (or lay above) the current trading price.
